HOW TO SETUP BLOCKS
LOGIN TO YOUR ROUTER
- Open your a blank webpage and into the web address bar type http://192.168.1.1(also try http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.2.1)
- Enter router username and password. The default username & password is usually ‘admin’ for both.
ADD STATIC ROUTES
- Under ‘Set up’ Click ‘Advanced Routing’
- Add the following Static Routing list:
- Select Set Number: 10
- Destination IP: 8.8.8.8
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 1.1.1.1
- Hop Count: 2
- Interface:WAN or LAN & Wireless
- Click on the ‘Save Settings’
- Repeat 2 and 3 under ADD STATUC ROUTES for the following routes for different hosts:
- Select Set Number: 11
- Destination IP: 208.67.222.222
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 1.1.1.1
- Hop Count: 2
- Interface:WAN or LAN & Wireless
- Select Set Number: 12
- Destination IP: 209.244.0.3
- Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Gateway: 1.1.1.1
- Hop Count: 2
- Interface:WAN or LAN & Wireless
- After you add, Click ‘Apply’
PING TEST
- Open the Command Prompt or Terminal
- For Windows: Press the Windows Key AND the R Key at the same time on your keyboard. Type in cmd and press Enter.
- For Mac OSX: In the upper right corner of your screen, where the search function is, type in Terminal and open the program.
- Run the following commands
- Type in:ping 8.8.8.8
- Type in:ping 208.67.222.222
- Type in:ping 209.244.0.3
Note: The ping tests above should not succeed. If any of them provide you with a result, examine your static routes or restart the wireless router and try this step again until the ping don’t succeed. You might also need to use a different gateway IP such as 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.253. Basically any inaccessible IP that the wireless router allows should function.
Reboot Device
Turn off your device and unplug the power cable from the router. Wait for 30 seconds. Plug in router and turn on device
